Guidelines for submission of papers

1. Calendar

1.1 Paper submission: April 19th, 2023 to May 28th, 2023;

1.2 Final deadline for correction requests, if necessary: May 29th, 2023;

1.3 Final acceptance notification: Up to June 09th, 2023;

1.4 Deadline for template submission: June 14th, 2023;

1.5 Presentation order and location: Up to 5 days before the event.

2. General information

2.1 Papers must be submitted exclusively to the email address: scientificremoteforest@gmail.com, with the subject line stating the submission research line (see item 2.7) and date of submission;

2.2 At least one author of each paper must be registered for the event;

2.3 Each participant may submit a maximum of one (1) paper;

2.4 The quality of the text (grammar, spelling, and typing), as well as the opinions and concepts expressed in the papers, are the sole responsibility of the author(s). However, the Scientific Committee will consider the technical quality, clarity, relevance, and pertinence of the papers to the event;

2.5 Only one certificate will be issued per paper, containing the names of the authors. The certificate will be sent via email to the corresponding author within 30 days after the event’s closing date, and the order of authorship in the paper will be maintained;

2.6 Papers accepted in the 1st International Seminar on Remote Sensing Applied to Forest Mensuration will be published in a book with an ISBN number;

2.7 SUBMISSION RESEARCH LINES:

2.7.1 Artificial intelligence-based methods and multi-sensor data fusion for forest information retrieval;

2.7.2 New methods for the retrieval of forest structure parameters from remote sensing data, including SAR, LiDAR, and DAP;

2.7.3 Application of UAV technology in forestry monitoring;

2.7.4 Remote sensing in forest fire monitoring;

2.7.5 Forest biodiversity indicators;

2.7.6 3D point clouds in forest remote sensing.

3. Guidelines

Type of paper: Full paper;

Number of authors: Up to eight (08) authors;

Language: English;

Format: word.doc;

Paper size: A4 (210 mm x 297 mm);

Orientation: Portrait;

Pages: Minimum of 5 pages and maximum of 7 pages;

Font: Times New Roman, 12;

Spacing: Single;

Alignment: Justified and single column;

Indentation: First line of 1.0 cm for paragraphs;

Margin: Top of 2 cm, bottom of 2 cm, left of 2 cm, and right of 2 cm;

Title of tables and figures: Always above;

Structure: Title, Authors and affiliation header, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments (optional), References.

4. Structure:

(THE DETAILED PAPER MODEL IS AVAILABLE IN THE ANNEXES)

Title: Written in capital letters and centered, with a maximum of 15 words;

Authors and affiliation header: Should contain the full name of all authors, affiliation, and email of the corresponding author (see the full paper model on the website);

Abstract: Should not exceed 300 (three hundred) words, providing information on the objectives, materials and methods, results, and conclusions of the paper. It should not contain bibliographic references;

Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords, related to the paper’s topic, separated by a “semicolon” and should not be present in the title;

Introduction: Should be brief and clearly justify the studied problem, using literature review. The last paragraph should contain the objectives of the conducted work.

Materials and Methods: Should be concise and clear so that the reader understands all the methodology used and the means used to achieve the current result. Whenever possible, references should be used for the methods used. The tables and/or figures (photographs, graphs, drawings) should present the necessary quality for good reproduction.

Results and Discussion: The Results and Discussion section should contain the data obtained in the research. The discussion of the results can be based on and compared with the literature used in the research paper, indicating its relevance, advantages, and possible limitations.

Conclusions: Should present specific and/or comprehensive inferences about the research results and their practical and theoretical application in the field of study.

Acknowledgments (optional): Should express gratitude to the agency that granted the scholarship, institutions, companies, and individuals who contributed to the research’s development (except for advisors, if any) in the form of financial, infrastructural, or scientific support.

References: In the References section, only the papers mentioned in the text should be listed in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. ABNT 2002 – NBR 6023 standards should be followed.

5. Presentation of papers

(THE POSTER TEMPLATE WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL TO THE CORRESPONDING AUTHORS OF ACCEPTED PAPERS)

5.1 The schedule and location of paper presentations will be released up to 5 days before the event;

5.2 The presenter of the paper must be on the list of authors of the present paper and also registered for the event.
