Guidelines for Scientific Papers

1. Event schedule (DD/MM/YYYY)

1.1 Deadline for full-paper submission: 01/02/2026 to 01/04/2026;

1.2 Deadline for full-papers review: 26/04/2026;

1.3 Submission of revisions requested by reviewers: 02/05/2026;

1.4 Submission of the final version by the authors: 09/05/2026;

1.5 Announcement of the results: 16/05/2026;

1.6 Deadline for the poster submission: 21/05/2026;

1.7 Announcement of the presentation order and location: up to five days before the event.

2. General Information

2.1 Papers must be submitted exclusively to the email address: scientificremoteforest@gmail.com. In the subject line, authors must indicate the submission research line (see item 2.7) and the deadline of submission;

2.2 It is mandatory that at least one of the authors of the paper be registered for the event;

2.3 Each registered participant may submit a maximum of one (01) paper;

2.4 The quality of the text (grammar, spelling, and typing), as well as the opinions and concepts expressed in the papers, are the sole responsibility of the author(s). However, the Scientific Committee will evaluate the following aspects: technical quality, clarity, relevance, and suitability to the event;

2.5 Only one certificate will be issued per paper, containing the names of the authors. The certificate will be sent by email to the corresponding author within 30 days after the conclusion of the event, respecting the authorship order presented in the paper;

2.6 Thematic topics

All thematic topics listed below must necessarily have a direct relationship with the use of remote sensing.

2.6.1. Forest ecosystem measurement and monitoring

2.6.2. Artificial intelligence, modeling, and data analysis in forest environments

2.6.3. Forest planning, management, and governance

2.6.4. Biodiversity, conservation, and ecosystem services

3. Guidelines

Type of paper: Full paper;

Number of authors: Up to eight (08) authors;

Language: English;

Format: Word (.doc);

Paper size: A4 (210 mm × 297 mm);

Orientation: Portrait;

Length: Minimum of 5 pages and maximum of 7 pages;

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt;

Spacing: Single-spaced;

Alignment: Justified, single column;

Indentation: First-line indent of 1.0 cm for paragraphs;

Margins: Top 2 cm, bottom 2 cm, left 2 cm, right 2 cm;

Table and figure titles: Always positioned above;

Structure: Title, Authors and Affiliations Header, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements (optional), References.

4. Structure

(THE DETAILED PAPER TEMPLATE IS PROVIDED IN THE APPENDICES)

Title: Written in uppercase letters, centered, with a maximum of 15 words;

Authors and affiliations header: Must include the full name of all authors, their affiliations, and the email address of the corresponding author (see the full paper template available on the website);

Abstract: Must not exceed 300 (three hundred) words and should include information on the objectives, materials and methods, results, and conclusions of the paper. It must not contain bibliographic references;

Keywords: Three to five keywords related to the paper’s topic, separated by semicolons, and not included in the title;

Introduction: Should be brief and clearly justify the problem under study, using a literature review. The last paragraph must state the objectives of the conducted research;

Materials and Methods: Should be concise and clear, allowing the reader to understand the entire methodology employed and the means used to obtain the results. Whenever possible, references should be used for the applied methods. Tables and/or figures (photographs, graphs, drawings) must have sufficient quality for proper reproduction;

Results and Discussion: This section must present the data obtained in the research. The discussion of the results may be based on and compared with the literature used in the study, indicating its relevance, advantages, and possible limitations;

Conclusions: Should present specific and/or comprehensive inferences regarding the research results and their practical and theoretical application in the field of study;

Acknowledgements (optional): Should express thanks to the funding agency, institutions, companies, and individuals who contributed to the development of the research (excluding supervisors, if any), whether through financial, infrastructural, or scientific support;

References: Only the works cited in the text should be listed, in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author. The references must follow ABNT 2002 – NBR 6023 standards.

5. Paper Presentations (Poster)
(THE POSTER TEMPLATE WILL BE SENT BY EMAIL TO THE CORRESPONDING AUTHORS OF THE ACCEPTED PAPERS)

5.1 The presentation schedule and venue will be announced up to 5 days before the event;

5.2 The paper presenter must be listed among the authors of the paper and must also be registered for the event.
